Dear Apps group,

there will be two sessions at the Trieste Interop dedicated to discussion of the Simple Applications Messaging Protocol document
(currently inWG). The sessions will include discussion of quite
a lot of open issues, with the intention that opinions can be taken and consensus achieved. The results will be edited into the document and a WD published shortly after the meeting.

For anyone wishing to get a preview of what the issues will be
(participation by interested parties is encouraged, especially
those who may want to use SAMP in applications which they develop), the following materials are available:

  1. Most recent draft of the SAMP document (posted to apps-samp list, 15 May 2008): http://www.ivoa.net/forum/apps-samp/att-0108/samp.pdf
  2. Draft of issues discussion slides to form framework of SAMP sessions (attached to Apps meeting wiki page): http://www.ivoa.net/internal/IVOA/InterOpMay2008Applications/appsamp.pdf

Hope to see many of you in the sessions.

Mark
