Dear Arnold,
in the context of the Source Catalogue Data Model, we are trying to make use of the STC to model the part of the Source DM related to the position of the source.
We are accessing Source Data Model-aware ADQL servers that we have installed over some of the ESA projects (XMM-Newton, ISO) and some CDS Vizier ones (Tycho2, USNOB1, Denis).
In some of these catalogues, we do have entries in, e.g., equatorial J2000 coordinates and galactic ones. To make the correspondence between them and the STC, we would need unique (i.e., biunivocal) UTYPEs to describe the positional STC elements corresponding to each particular coordinate type.
We have tried to build such a utype from the current STC structure, but have not succeeded so far.
Could you please give us some advice on how to do it?
Wait for your news.
Thanks.
Cheers,
P.
