Dear all,
welcome to the VOQL Technical Experts Group and mailing list (voqlteg @ivoa.net).
The final configuration of the VOQL Technical Experts Group is as follows:
NVO: Alex Szalay CDS: Francois Ochsenbein AstroGrid: Kona Andrews CVO: Pat Dowler JVO: Yuji Shirasaki ESA-VO: Inaki Ortiz GVO: Benjamin Gufler
Doug Tody is invited in the list, as he will be giving the required inputs from the DAL community for the Table Access Protocol (TAP) that the VOQL-TEG will create.
I would like to celebrate the first VOQL-TEG teleconf next Monday, Oct 9th.
Bear in mind that the times are restricted by the fact that we need to teleconf with USA and Japan at the same time. This puts Yuji in the worst situation, as he will have to meet at night, but he has kindly accepted to do so whenever needed.
In principle the teleconf would be held at 13:00 UTC, which I believe would correspond to 09:00 in USA East Coast and 22:00 in Japan, 15:00 in Centre Europe (this all depends on the summer time settings, etc., but we can work the details out later).
Before sending a tentative agenda for discussion on this first teleconf, I would like to make sure it can be celebrated.
I appreciate that having a full quorum every month to celebrate the meeting will be quite difficult. I am tempted to establish that the meetings should be celebrated as soon as there are five out of the seven representatives (i.e., not counting me). Otherwise we might run into never being able to celebrate the meeting. I would like to hear your opinion on this.
As soon as I have inputs from all of you, I will try to pencil an agenda. I have clear ideas of what is needed to discuss on the first teleconf, so please wait for my agenda to give your comments.
Please send me your inputs asap.
Thank you for joining this effort, and get ready for the fun. This is not going to be a piece of cake.... ;-)
Cheers,
P.
