Last week's meeting at ESAC and next VOQL-TEG#5 Meeting

Dear all,

our schedule last week was really tight here at ESAC, but finally we managed to find a hole and discuss some points related to the initial TAP draft.

Unfortunately, we did not have too much time, so we only discussed very briefly on which type of services we wanted in the TAP, how they mapped to the rest of DAL current interfaces (and possibly future ones), and whether there was an easy correspondence between current DAL protocols and an eventual TAP one.

Some interesting discussion appeared on what "queryData" would mean for a DAl-type protocol and for a TAP-type protocol: do they mean the same thing? Is the "queryData" function in the "TAP-type" more similar to the "queryMetadata" in the DAL-type? Or are they the same?

We agreed to try to compile all the information we already have (from the discussions on the list and during our meetings) and the experience from the DAL interfaces, and to fulfil action: "[...]+VOQL-TEG-1/AI#9 on PO/DT: to start writing the TAP document[...]" so we can distribute a draft version one week before our next VOQL-TEG meeting in order to be able to discuss extensively on the draft (that should be brought to China, as agreed with the Exec).

Talking about our next VOQL-TEG#5 meeting, I think it should happen around the 2nd/3rd week of April (first week is Easter) so I have set up a meet-o-matic thing for you to fill in preferred dates:

I reckon we will need another meeting just before the week of the China interop, so this one should be celebrated asap.
