+VOQL-TEG-2/AI#2 on AS/FO: to initiate the writing of an IVOA standard document for the description if a Service that addresses the Crossmatch issue.

+VOQL-TEG-2/AI#3 on ALL: to give ideas on the name to give to the aforementioned Service (describing crossmatch issues)

2) General Discussion

ADQL

  1. Review of new draft produced by Inaki (sent Apr 24)
  2. Region definition discussion.
  3. Usage of UTypes within ADQL
  4. Discussion on interval and temporal data
  5. Definition and usage of SELECT INTO
  6. Recommendations on version number

Rather than going in detail to each of the inputs sent, I have tried, with the help of Inaki and Aurelien, to extract the possibly more relevant issues for discussion. Please feel free to ask for new additions.

  1. Try to agree on a definition of a dictionary of terms: what do we mean with: Dataset Catalogue Database Table Column Metadata
  2. Distinction between:
    • "S*AP" like protocol for Tables
    • "ADQL accessible tables"

(I will elaborate on this difference in the introduction, as I know this looks a bit fuzzy).

3) Table Metadata access method : full query language (SQL-92 type)

   or simple URL endpoint for retrieval.

4) Table Metadata output format : VOTable encoded or reusing

   specific parts of VOResource schema ?

5) Type of Metadata accessible from the Service directly ?

   (VOSI-type / getCapabilities / getTables / getColumns ?)

6) Usage of HTTP features : error codes, content type, encoding type,

   ...is it worth it ? (implying a change in the other DAL services)

7) Clarify point with Doug: in which forum is the getCapabilities

   and stageData (and/or others) being discussed?. Ask for inclusion    on it if relevant.
