Dear all,
several comments on the ADQL document have been received through the VOQL mailing list.
While they are all fair comments, I believe most of them have been extensively discussed within the VOQL-TEG, were -as you know- representatives from each of the major VO parties interested in ADQL are sitting.
In order to not fall into an endless discussion loop, I think the best way to proceed forward is that each member of the VOQL-TEG gathers, summarises and tries to answer the issues coming from his/her own community. Then, those issues can be discussed at the Trieste interop meeting, and the document could be modified to accommodate the eventually agreed changes. The rest of the VOQL-TEG members can give support in answering the issues appearing at the RFC at will.
I would also like to ask for your presence at the Trieste interop meeting. As this is a crucial meeting for the ADQL interests, in case you are not coming you should nominate someone representing you there.
I remind here the list of VOQL-TEG members elected by the different VO partners and their affiliation:
Alex Szalay (NVO)
Francois Ochsenbein (CDS)
Kona Andrews (AstroGrid)
Pat Dowler (CVO)
Yuji Shirasaki (JVO)
Inaki Ortiz (ESAVO)
Benjamin Gufler (GAVO)
Pedro Osuna (VOQL Chair)
In order to to ensure that the information flows smoothly within the IVOA, I have copied this message the IVOA and TCG Chair and Vice-chair for their information.
We might still have some time to discuss these issues in a teleconf before the Trieste interop. Please let me know if you think this would be appropriate and then I'd eventually start a polling for a possible date.
Regards,
VOQL Chair
