Dear VOQLers,

Here is a tentative agenda for the victoria VOQL WG session. Since Maria is currently absent, her thoughts are not included yet. She may add her idea after she comes back in May.

session 1 : ADQL Spec.
   
   Goal: to finalize the ADQL version 1,
         and some discussion for version 2 ?

   - Current status of the ADQL WD

   - unit syntax

   - coordinate frame: which coordate frame should be supported.

   - ADQL schema



       - Proposal on simplifying the fucntion complexType.


           Do we need to distiguish functions by different
           complex type ?  currently three function types
           are defined "userDefinedFunctionType", "mathFunctionType"
           and "trigonometricFunctionType"



       - Proposal to remove archiveTableType and add a service idetifier

           attribute to the tableType.



       - regionSearchType: how to express a region by STC. to what extent

         we will use STC.



       - Reconsider xMatchType.

           


       - Reconsider the table join complexTypes to support "Natural Join",

         "Using Join", "Join on condition_other_than_comparisonPred".



       - Add a subquery ?     


   - ADQL-Core schema



       - Prepare minimum subset of ADQL schema that follows the

         ADQL-Core syntax.

   - How to update the ADQL version ?



       - change of the ADQL namespace has an impact on the skynode interface.

session 2 : SkyNode Spec.

   Goal: finalize SkyNode interface version 1 and some discussion for 
         version 2

   - current status of the SkyNode WS

       - proposal to add "peformQuery" interface for ADQL-Core




       - proposal to add "performJoinWithVOTable" interface




       - proposal to add an asynchronous interface




       - What should "select into" returns ? empty votable ?


   - Unit and coordinate frame conversion



       - Where do we resolve the unit ? server or client ?




       - Where do we covert the coordinate frame ? server or client ?


   - xmatch



       - Which cross match algorithm should support the xmatch skynode ?

         "chi2" vs "distance".

   - Reconsider the levels of skynode compliance



       - Only two levels of BASIC and FULL is meaningfull ? 

         All the skynode is a BASIC skynode.
         Do we expect a FULL skynode appears ?

   - Standardize the content of a returned VOTable



       - What information must be written in a returned VOTable

       - How to use id and name attributes of a FIELD element ?


   - Standardize the content of a returned Exception message

   - metadata



       - information_schema vs tables and columns interfaces: which should

         we take ? both or one of them ?



       - all the other compliance level to the ADQL syntax should be supplied 


session 3 : Implementation

   Goal: bring together our expriences of the implementation of the
   SkyNode and share tools that are usefull for the Skynode development.
