Let's be a little careful about what we mean by "next release". We have established that VOSpace-1.x and VOSpace-2.x will coexist indefinitely. If we include DIME specifics in VOSpace 1.0 and deprecate DIME in VOSpace 2.0, then presumably we also have to deprcate DIME in VOSpace 1.1.

To be clear, I think of VOSpace-1 and VOSpace-2 as two products, "VOSpace level 1 and "VOSpace level 2" rather than just two versions of one product.

I vote that we leave out DIME altogether from VOSpace 1.0. We can put it, or MTOM, into VOSpace 1.1 or later when we need it.
