You may lose customers this way. Suppose somebody has already built an
application that distributes data through web URLs, and they are
thinking of upgrading to VOSpace, for example most existing data centers
and their user tools. If you cannot replicate what they do already (i.e.
a URL/GET access mechanism), then the step they must make is much
larger, and perhaps not taken. The potential customer will move towards
HTTP sharing and HTTP upload. The risk is that VOSpace will become a
boutique protocol used only by a handful of sites.
