Sorry, but I think you're getting way too convoluted here...

If all I want to do is push some meta data and a small associated dataset down the wire, I should not be forced to generate seperate two documents and a wrapper document, or to transmit them seperately (which could double the network overhead, as for small documents alot of the overhead is opening and closing the connection).
